Foreningen Custorian is permitted by Indsamlingsnævnet, the Danish Fundraising Board, to collect public donations. This page sets out what that permit covers, what your donation funds, how you can give, and how the collection is accounted for.
Custorian is permitted to collect from 12 August 2026 to 11 August 2027, granted by Indsamlingsnævnet under §3 of Indsamlingsloven (the Danish Fundraising Act, Act No. 511 of 26 May 2014) and the Indsamlingsbekendtgørelse (Executive Order No. 160 of 26 February 2020). The permit covers the whole of Denmark and cannot be transferred to anyone else; if Custorian stops collecting before the period ends, it must ask Indsamlingsnævnet to change the period rather than simply stopping.
The permit authorises collection through: this website’s donation channel, an online collection platform, events, social media (Instagram, LinkedIn), and mail/flyers.
The permit restricts what the money raised can be used for. Custorian may use collected funds only for project-specific expenses that advance children’s safety online, and operating costs. Donors cannot earmark a gift to a specific sub-project within that purpose, and Custorian cannot use the funds for anything outside it without first asking Indsamlingsnævnet’s permission.
Only the payment channels listed on Custorian’s Indsamlingsnævnet permit may be used to collect for this campaign. Funds received are kept in an account used solely for this collection, as required by §6(1) of the Indsamlingsbekendtgørelse.
This donation channel is for individuals only; Custorian does not accept donations, grants or sponsorship here from any platform, company or organisation, consistent with the Funding Policy on the Governance page.
Custorian keeps accounts of everything the collection raises and spends, and states in them exactly how any surplus was used. Accounts are submitted to Indsamlingsnævnet by 11 February 2028, and are published both here on custorian.org and on Indsamlingsnævnet’s own website. If the collection raises more than DKK 50,000, the accounts are reviewed by a state-authorised or registered auditor before submission. If any collected funds remain unspent at the time accounts are filed, Custorian files an annual statement of how the surplus is used until it is fully spent.
This collection is governed by Lov nr. 511 af 26. maj 2014 om indsamling m.v. (the Fundraising Act) and Bekendtgørelse nr. 160 af 26. februar 2020 om indsamling m.v. (the Fundraising Executive Order). Indsamlingsnævnet’s decision to grant this permit cannot be appealed to an administrative authority (Indsamlingsloven §9(4)); a complaint about the Board’s case handling can be made to the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman, or the matter can be brought before the courts.
